Summersville Lake Boating

Boating on Summersville Lake is a favorite pastime of many during the summer months. The lake has its own marina with refilling stations and boat rentals. Small v bottom boats up to full size pontoon boat can be rented by the day or half a day.the lake has a total of four boat ramps. The first is off rt.19 on salmon Run road. Just outside of Summersville .if you stay straight onto airport road to the top of the hill, them turn right back down. This where the marina and dive shop are. With one wide ramp that two can load and unload at the same time.

The marina has several slips that boats of all sizes are kept during the summer months, but getting one for yourself is next to impossible .both of these ramps have large parking and plenty of space to turn around.
The next two ramps are located below Battle Run Campground. On the other side of the damn. There are fees to launch your boat. Make sure you follow the requirements posted on the signs.
The boat ramp at Battle Run has a no wake zone for about a mile.if you are not in hurry I would use this one .its mostly used by the campers.there is one more boat ramp. Just passed the picnic area off the damn itself. It is gravel road on. The same side as the picnic area. It does have a pretty good grade to it. A four wheel drive is a must. I am not sure,it may be gated off.but it would be worth a check. Only a few locals use this.
There are several places to visit while on the lake. Long point. A massive rock outcrop . Of coarse the damn and other hidden cove you can park and spend the day.just remember to be safe and obey the rules.
