Summersville Lake, Summersville Wv
Summersville Lake is nestled in central West Virginia. Located near the small town of Summersville. The lake is the Army Corp of Engineers crown jewel. With clear blue water and breath taking rock vistas the possibilities of boredom vanish quickly.Summersville lake is the most popular boating destination in the state .Water skiing and water craft are always a part of the landscape as the lake it self.
Camping is at Battle Run camping area. They offer several amenities ,two large bathhouses and electrical hookups.volleyball court and play area for kids.new this year is a small climbing wall.Camp sites don’t have water at each site, but there are several taps spread out within the campground. Water can also be had at the bathhouses along with Washers and dryers can be found in both . Restrooms as well. If you want a hot shower. You had better get up and get there first . Waste disposable is located at the front gate. If you are planning an extended stay you will have to take your camper out the front gate then return to your site.
Camping site prices range from $18.00 to $24.00 a night. Tent only spots are available. As far as the camp sites in my opinion the first lower loop and the second loop are the best. Both are right down on the water and they have a great view of the beach.
There are two wide boat ramps just below Battle Run campground. Both are wide enough for two trailers at the same time.the also have small docks on one side. The inclines are can easily be used by cars and two wheel drive trucks. The parking area has plenty of spaces for truck and trailers. If you only boating for the day. A fee of $ 3.00 is required for launching your boat. If you are camping at Battle Run this fee is not required . It is included with your site required. A season pass is also offered at the Army corp of eingeers office located across from the picnic area just passed the damn.
